Guest guest
Sounds good to me Deanna. Sadly the tea would be a bit cold by the time I got there from Scotland. It's beginning to get dark here already which means it's nearly tea-time so I'll make myself a cuppa and imagine I'm enjoying the glory of your Colorado morning. Guest guest
Christie, I have heard about Scotland's hospitality. What a lovely country you live in. If by chance you ever visit Colorado my tea pot will be ready to welcome you. Have that cuppa and sweet dreams Deanna , " christie_0131 " <christie0131@g...> wrote: > > Sounds good to me Deanna. Guest guest
That would be Highland hospitality, Deanna. Here in Edinburgh, legend has it that the common greeting when you arrive at someone's house is " You'll have had your tea " meaning that you are not going to be offered anything because the expectation is that you've had something to eat already. Actually we are nowhere near that mean, and this is but a scurrilous rumour put about by the Sassenachs south of the border. Should I chance to visit Colorado, you'll be the first to know! Guest guest
-Nothing I like more than local folk lore stories..I myself am a storyteller and sometimes poet. Our *south of the border* here would be the country of Mexico. Lovely saying here by the Hispanic culture is the greeting..Mi Casa es su Casa(my house is your house)..On a recent visit to a friend's home her husband said the familiar words but added something on the end which I did not understand. I do not speak Spanish( only a little). I asked what he said and he translated " my house is your house but don't take it with you when you leave " ..We all had such a great laugh. I loved *you'll have had your tea?* . Sounds like something my German grandpa would have said... Smiles and hugs coming your way. Guest guest
I think one of the yummiest sandwiches I made recently was cucumber, red pepper hummus, and bean sprouts on whole wheat. Guest guest
Ahhhhh....I envy you. I live in Northern California in the valley and it never snows here. But I'm having a warm cuppa (herb tea with lemon and honey) trying to fight this darn sinus infection that is giving me a terrible headache. And I'm sure being perched infront of my laptop isn't helping matters. hehehe I'm tempted to try the alcohol cures if I had any alcohol...lol. Guest guest
Misty, Brew yourself a hot cup of freshly shreaded Ginger Root and breathe in the steam then drink the tea. I helped my mother (age 86) do this yesterday and within 15 min. she was so much better..Also hot wet packs to the sinus area will take down the swelling and allow the sinus cavity to drain. Take some Zinc and you will be feeling great in no time.. Sending smiles and hugs your way Deanna , Misty Rionach <mistyrionach> wrote: > > Ahhhhh....I envy you. Guest guest
That would be so awesome... However I live in Connecticut so I am pretty far away from everyone. But we can dream. Just imagine the recipes.. I already have recipes everywhere. The other day I sat down at the desk and I had some recipes I had printed out on the desk, on the cabinet next to the desk and on the table behind the desk. I have recipes everywhere.
