Guest guest
I had a sinus infection years ago and when the doctor gave me antibiotics I replied, oh it's just a little sinus infection. He was very firm with me and said that is one of the worst places to have an infection since the optic nerve, inner ear, etc. is surrounding the sinus cavity and can be very danferous. Guest guest
Hello Lady MaDonna, Acute bacterial sinusitis requires antibiotic treatment to reduce the duration of infection and illness and to prevent serious complications such as infection around the eye, bacterial meningitis, and brain abscess. Chronic sinus disease is thought to be another complication of untreated or inadequately treated acute bacterial sinusitis. Guest guest
Thanks Ron. I know my doctor made a big deal about it when I tried to sluff off my sinus infection. He was very upset I didn't come to his office sooner. I will try almost anything to prevent the use of antibiotics but now and then we have to use them. Guest guest
I do agree... now and then we need them.. as for sinus problems however, I can attest to this personally... one thing to avoid if you have any sort of sinus thang, is dairy. I used to get sinus infections all the time.. every single year, and they were very difficult to get rid of. I even had to have my sinuses drained in high school (not a fun experience... but wow, what a vivid memory!) UGH! the thing is I don't get sinus infections any more.. I haven't had a sinus infection for three years! no antibiotics.. o me! why? what is different?? you might not like to hear this, but believe me.. or better yet, try for yourself... since going vegan I have not had the sinus problems that I had as a dairy drinker. I have heard this from many vegans... even heard once a story of a young kid who was going to need tubes to drain his ears... the mom put the kid off dairy and within a week the ears were no longer needing tubes. so.. if you are having any sinus problems, I highly suggest you try for yourself.. cut the dairy.. or at least cut back... it is worth trying =) jenni On Jan 21, 2006, at 6:03 PM, Donnalilacflower wrote: > Thanks Ron.
