However they still (at least at some of the BKs in this area) tend to fry the

fries in the same vat of oil that they fry meats. Also, even with the veggie

burgers, though they told PETA that they would gladly microwave the veggie

burgers rather than fry them on the same grill as the meat (they insist that the

area they cook them on the grill is separate, but they cannot guarantee that no

meat juices from the burgers will not go over into the area), I have found only

one BK in my area where the employees were even aware that that was an option.

They have always refused to do this. The buns are not vegan and neither is the

Heinz ketchup (more than likely). Just FWIW to anyone who is interested.

Tracy,

I was just going to post the same message. I just looked at the website and

called to headquarters to make sure. Apparantely, they changed back a little

less than a yr. ago.

Peace,

Laura

Not to sound argumentative, but according to whom and as of when?

Sandra, whose daughter was probably traumatized for life to find out there was

meat in her beloved french fries

Just so everybody knows, the veggie burgers at mc donalds come in to contact

with meat products (it says so on the commercial as a warning)

fwiw, the VRG Guide To Fast Food lists Wendy's as having vegetarian fries. They

say this company is the least likely to fry their potatoes with meat products

because they have a separate fryer for fries and meat. However, they may put

fries in the meat fryer when really busy. It's not guaranteed.

They aren't supposed though. My dh worked at Bk when he was in high

school and it was against BK rules to mix foods in the fryers, they

didn't want the flavors to mix. The one that he worked at was strict

about it, but I have a friend who also worked there and she said that

the one she was at didn't follow the rules at all.

Did they take the chicken amino acid out of the fries? Last I heard,

they had just added it.

If they refuse to microwave it, then you are supposed to ask to speak

to the manager. If the manager doesn't rectify the situation, then

call their headquarters.

This is true, Lucy. The word I got from Wendy's on their fries is that until

about 5:00 PM, they cook the fries in seoparate vats. After that time it's a

toss up as to whether or not they are cooked separately or together - depends on

the individual franchises.

Done all of that, Sara - to no avail. They insist that they have " thaw " the

burgers out on the grill before they can microwave them.
