Guest guest
I saw a picture of a George Foreman grill being used to grill veggies; it made me want to buy one, but I hesitated. Probably Gardenburgers and similar patties would do well. I would add a few drops of liquid smoke flavor or non-anchovy worchestershire sauce or maybe soy sauce. Let us know how it works out. --- Be kind. Be of good cheer. Dick
Guest guest
Definitely let us know -- I want one but had heard mediocre things, so hadn't. Guest guest
My brother bought me one and when I first opened it I really thought he was an idiot. I couldn't imagine what I could cook on it. Now that I've had it a few months I love it (and have apologized to my brother) Obviously, any vegie burger or vegie dog can be cooked on it. If anyone has ever made the tofu bacon recipe from PETA it is outrageous on the Foreman grill (even my non veg family and friends agree) Basically anything that can be made into a patty works well. I've also done vegies on it and they come out really well. The only trick seems to be do vegies with a similar cooking time together. I usually cut the vegies and use a little olive oil and seasons. Then I shake the whole thing in a bowl to coat and then put it on the grill. I don't really know about times because I just kind of wing it. peace, Katie -- " Lion's Ima " <heviatar Mon, 14 Jul 2003 20:05:23 -0000 ><html><body> > > ><tt> >I just broke down and bought one - my kitchen is too darned hot to<BR> >cook in! Guest guest
We love ours. We got it for free or I would never had considered it. My dh thought it was silly. We make grilled veggies, burgers, grilled cheese, hashbrowns. Whatever you want! Guest guest
I'd heard that veggie get soggy in it since the steam is trapped. Not your experience? Guest guest
I'm certain it is, I spray it good, it grills fast, I wipe it clean, no metal utensils touch it. Since I use it a few times a month I'm not concerned. I do all my other cooking in cast iron and steam in stainless steel. It's more than likely safer than using an outside grill with fluid and coals. I love my Foreman, and I love to watch all his old boxing events too! Guest guest
Ok, I think I'm convinced that I will use it. Now on to practicalities. Mine does not have a temperature choice which Marilyn liked abgout hers. Do you have this, Donna? Does it/would it make a difference to you? The plates on mine do not come off for cleaning purposes. Would this be a problem? TIA Christie , Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > I'm certain it is, I spray it good, it grills fast, I wipe it clean, no metal utensils touch it. Guest guest
The plate does not come off on mine for cleaning. I hit it with the paper towels as soon as it cools. It comes right off. I use it for lots of things. Grill whole carrots on it and tell me they aren't the best!!!
