Guest guest
FYI--I believe that 8th Continent soy milk contains animal products, so it's not actually veg*n. It contains Vitamin D3, which is obtained from animal sources (usually fish or sheep lanolin). 8th Continent is made by General Mills. If my memory serves, despite complaints and requests that they switch to plant-based Vitamin D2 fortification, the company refused to change their formula. Most other brands of soymilk are vegan. Personally, I love Blue Diamond's Almond Breeze almond milk, as I try not to eat *too* much soy (on the principle that a varied diet is best). Here's an article explaining about 8th Contient in more detail: http://www.vegparadise.com/news19.html Karen > Message: 1 > Tue, 3 Feb 2004 06:16:15 -0800 (PST) > Renee Carroll <renecarol25 > soy milk > > 8th Continent brand soy milk is a favourite even of > non-vegs at my work. Guest guest
I've switched to Sun Soy recently because it tastes good and is cheaper. Thanks for letting me know about 8th continent. It just goes to show that people will put animal products in anything... why on earth would any one put animal products in soy milk of all things. Isn't the purpose of soy milk to avoid animal products? Thanks, Renee Karen Hirsch <karen_hirsch wrote: FYI--I believe that 8th Continent soy milk contains animal products, so it's not actually veg*n.
