Guest guest
Okay - I know that a number of people here have gone to birthday parties at Chuck E Cheese and we are thinking of having my daughter's 3rd birthday party there, so I had a couple of questions. 1. Is the pizza (with no cheese) vegan? 2. Would it be fun for 3 year olds or are they too young? 3. Do the hosts usually pay for the guest's parent's food as well or do parents fend for themselves? This is our first non-family birthday event and I dont know birthday party etiquette too well!!! Thanks for any advice. Rachael
Guest guest
we had my daugther's third birthday party a ChuckECheese after a friend had her third birthday party there a few months before. She loved playing at ChuckECheese all the games and stuff. My daughter's veggie though so I don't know if it is vegan. You could call ChuckECheese and see. I have another suggestion too.. some non-veg restaurants will put soy cheese on pizza for you if you provide it ahead of time. Its an option if the kids want cheese pizza. I will be having my daughter's party there this year.. just a couple weeks. I probably will eat a salad at her party this year. We paid for pizza for the other adults/ parents that came. Actually salads too if people got them. We didn't have a lot of kids so it wasn't expensive.. less than $100 all together. I'm hoping to just get by with buying one or two cheese pizzas for the grown-ups depending on how many are there. And if people want to eat salads this year they will just pay for it themselves. hope that helps, Renee ps my daughter absolutely had a blast at her first trip to ChuckECheese at 33mons.. but her 3 yo friend slept thru the party. My 18 mo neice also loved her first trip to ChuckECheese. I guess it depends on the child. smartgirl27us <thesmartfamily3 wrote: Okay - I know that a number of people here have gone to birthday parties at Chuck E Cheese and we are thinking of having my daughter's 3rd birthday party there, so I had a couple of questions. 1. Guest guest
Hi, We've been to a few Chuck E parties. 1. I honestly don't know if their pizza is vegan or not. I either send a couple pieces of soycheese pizza with my kids, or I have them get breadsticks (without Parmesean) and some marinara to dip it in. If I happen to be staying with them, then I'll get a salad bar too and share some veggies with them. Usually the kids are so excited about the whole thing that food is the last thing on their minds. 2. There are little rides for 3 year olds, but I think it is a bit young. I would definitely have the parents stay too for a 3 yr old party. My four year old still freaks out when Chuck E comes out - he is really scared of him. 3. When I have stayed at the party, the host did pay for me. I don't know if that's typical or not.could get really expensive if you have a lot of people. On the other hand, the kids won't eat much because they'll want to be on the rides which means the adults won't have much time to eat either! Guest guest
Hi Rachael, Funny you should mention this as we're going to a party at Chuck E. Cheese on Saturday. I really don't like the place myself. BUT, this is because I have five children who go to the parties (we've been to two at Chuck E. Cheese or CEC for short) and though they stamp the hands of the kids and the parents to insure that the kids only leave with their parents, it's still easy to loose your kids their. Now, as far as my kids go? They LOVE to go to parties there. They have a blast while I'm pulling my hair out trying to keep track of them! LOL At the parties we have gone to at CEC, the parents have been offered food and drinks along with the kids. I haven't eaten the pizza at CEC though because I was told that the crust has whey in it. I didn't check the ingredients of the sauce because the presence of the whey in the crust was enough to keep us from eating the pizza. We brought our own pizza and cupcakes with us so that our kids could have the same as the other kids. Three year olds might be a little young for a party at CEC depending on the age of the other kids who are there. I found that when our kids were younger and smaller, the big kids would literally run over the smaller kids in their excitement. There are lots of video games that smaller kids really can't do BUT there are many rides and activities that smaller kids can do. My main concern when my kids were younger was the bigger kids inadvertently hurting them. Truly I am not looking forward to the party on Saturday but truly my kids are psyched! At least it will be fun watching their excitement as they play. That is worth the trouble. Guest guest
Renee, Less than $100 is a bargain! And surprising, If you were to have a party at home, it would cost at least that, by the time you get decorations and all the food, and then the time you spend on it all. I am just shocked that it was that cheap. My daughter has only had one bday, but her first one, was only family, but decorations and food was more that $100 for about 10 people. Cool, so something to consider down the road. Guest guest
Well hardly anybody showed up.. we had 5 kids including my daughter at $8.95 a kid. Then I bought one pizza & soft drinks for the adults and a few salads for a couple of the adults. If all the kids I had invited had shown up.. They also gave us extra tokens for registering online and we divided those amongst the few kids that were there. I'm definitely planning to spend more this year.. a little better planning. She has a skating competition on Saturday so we can't do her party this weekend which apparently this weekend is a bad weekend for people to come. So we are going to do it next weekend and hopefully all or most of the kids I invited show up. I'm looking at spending 2x as much for 2x as many kids. Guest guest
Renee, I think that is still pretty good price. I know my sister did her son's second bday party at home, last year, and by the time she bought decorations, cake, all the food, she spent over $400! But then again, her husband went a little crazy. Couldn't have the normal hot dogs and hamburgers(they are not vegetarian), with fries or something, they had to have fietas, salad, queso, quacomole, etc. So it was a little extravegant, especially for a two year old. They also bought him his " own " cake, to eat, and a few cakes for the guests. So, planning them at a place like Chuck E. Cheese, I think probably can help you keep spending under control! I know I would go all out, like my sister, if I didn't have my husband saying, " Ummm, do we really need that! " LOL! Guest guest
Just wanted to let you know. I just got an ingredient listing from Chuck E Cheese from their public relations department and there is no whey in the pizza crust. If you get it without cheese it IS VEGAN. , <quintmom@n...> wrote: I haven't eaten the pizza at CEC though > because I was told that the crust has whey in it. Guest guest
I asked again about the crust when I took my kids to the party last Saturday at Chuck E. Cheese and they told me there is whey in the pizza crust. I assumed that the crust was prepackaged and distributed to all the Chuck E. Cheeses, but maybe I'm wrong about that? Again, I didn't ask about the sauce. Don't know if there is chicken or beef broth in the sauce. Did you find that info out? Guest guest
Well, I was going to attach the e-mail for you from chuck e cheese but my husband must have deleted it already. Anyway, the sauce according to the e-mail is vegan. I am not sure why they keep telling you there is whey in the crust because the e-mail he sent me is supposed to be the ingredients for all chuck e cheeses and there was definately not whey in the ingredients. Then again there have been a number of occassions that I have asked restaurant personell about ingredients and then found out later that they were wrong. , <quintmom@n...> wrote: > I asked again about the crust when I took my kids to the party last Saturday > at Chuck E.
