Guest guest
Can anyone recommend a multivitamin, both in the adult and the kids categories? i currently am taking no multivitamin but feel that i should be, and i am giving my kids " Flintstones " vitamins, but i don't know if that is the best thing or not, just buying them out of habit... any informed suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Guest guest
My youngest child would not take any kind of hard chewable vitamin. I was able to find an all vegetarian version of the gummy bear multivitamins in the health food store. Hope this helps!
Guest guest
Hi, I also give my 10 yo " Flintstones " vitamins, but only because I'd already bought them. I noticed too late that they contain gelatin! Guest guest
Can anyone recommend a multivitamin, both in the adult and the kids categories? I can reccommend, Rainbow Light multivitamins. They are in vegicaps. Also SourceNatural brand. For kids- Gummi vites that are at the health food store. Not artificial colors, and no gelatin, and Animal Parade are our current favorite. There are some liquid childrens vitamins that are also very good, I don't remember the brand. I look for vitamins that are from whole foods. Guest guest
We use Rainbow Light chidren's vitamins. They are made from whole food sources, do not have any artificial colors or flavors and are reasonably priced, although I am sure that they are a bit more than the Flintstone's. Guest guest
My daughter was the same way. Now she takes a regular chewable but for about 2 years she only did the gummy type ones. Guest guest
> Shirley <mybluerat > Re: vitamin recommendations? > > Can anyone recommend a multivitamin, both in the adult > and the kids categories? In the past I've ordered the Freeda brand adult and kid multi's from veganessentials.com They're vegan - not sure if you are. But I'll switch to a brand my store carries when I run out. VegLife (distributed by Nutraceuticals, which also distributes Solaray and Kal) has both adult and child multis. Hero brand (Yummy Bears) has a vegetarian kid's, as does Nutrition Now (they have chewable tablets as well as gummis both in veggie versions; Kangavites is vegetarian. So is the liquid kid's multi Sarah's (expensive - sold as one bottle of vits and a separate bottle of minerals, each small bottle is $20 - but very good). Rainbow Light is food-based which is very good, but not vegan. There are others brands. I think Pangea has a different brand than Vegan Essentials. You probably will want to go to a store that allows for sampling or for returns of your child doesn't like the taste. veganessentials will take back for that reason, but then you're paying 2x the shipping. The liquids are easy because you can mix them into the child's favorite juices (if they won't drink them straight, which some kids do). HTH, Doh -- Taking into account the public's regrettable lack of taste, it is incumbent upon you not to fit in.

Unless they've changed their formula lately? Any health food store will have children's vitamins that will actually be *healthy* but whether they'll be vegan, or be palatable to your child, is another story! ~Doh -------- " A Person's a Person No Matter How Small " ~Dr. Seuss, Horton Hears a Who
Guest guest
We use Freeda Vitamins for children and adults. They were recommended by VRG several years ago because they have no animal ingredients in any of their products. They seem to be a more complete multivitamin than some of the other kids vitamins. I bought some of the Vegan Gummi Vitamins one time and was not impressed with the vitamins that they supplied (I think it was only vitamins a and c). Anyway, read the labels and don't assume that all multi-vitamins are complete (and waste $10.00 like I did). Guest guest
The problem I have with SO many of the vitamins I've found (I'm talking liquid for toddlers specifically) is they have much more than the 100% RDA for ADULTS of some of the vitamins. Isn't this wasteful at best and harmful in some cases? The only liquid toddler one I've found that has 100% of the RDA for toddlers, (older kids take more) is Schiff Vegetarian Multiple. Unfortunately, the store I used to buy it from doesn't carry it anymore. 8o( Tracey =^..^= www.kindheartedwomen.com vegan approved bath, body, baby care & cloth diapers. FREE SHIPPING AVAILABLE!
