Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the hatching projects info-- I'm going to be talking with the teacher and head of the school soon, and I'll let you know how it turns out. At the open house last week, the teacher brought up the quail egg project in front of all the other parents. When asked what happened to the chicks, the teacher sheepishly said she didn't know. One other mother said we are all " better off NOT knowing. " Then everyone kind of smirked, nodded, and laughed. Argh. Guest guest
I had a simliar response last night at my daughters 'Curriculum Night' (8th Grade Open House). I asked the Scienec teacher if any animals were going to be used, also in front of all the other parents. One person snickered softly, but that was enough to put me on the defense! Anyway, He said he wasn't sure and then went on to say that in 9th or 10th grade, they dissect PIGS! My heart sank. In any case, my daughter will NOT be dissecting ANY animals!
