Guest guest
Renee, just contact either Farm Sanctuary or Animal Place ( I know the website for Animal place is animalplace.org). They both are running adopt a turkey programs. Also, both are excellent sanctuaries. That is not to say that there are other wonderful sanctuaries out there, but those are two that I know of. Guest guest
I have a question. I've heard people talking about adopting turkeys for Thanksgiving. It seems like a really great thing to do. And a good value to teach our Children. So my question is how much does it cost? I assume you have to pay for people to feed and care for the animal its entire life? How many people on the list do this? How long have you? Guest guest
Hi Renee I think that I said my kids and I have done it for the past 2 years so sorry if I am repeating myself. The kids love it. It cost $15 from the farm sanctuary. They send you a picture of the turkey. It is very cute. This year we asked for one that lives in thier NY shelter so we can go visit it. We wanted to go up there for mothers day last year but I was pregnant and on bedrest. So, we are planning to go up for mothers day next year. Has anyone ever been there? Guest guest
Carol, I have been there several time. I used to live in Western NY and still have extended family in that area. It is a bit of a drive from MD; but it's very worth it. I have met friends up there and spent wonderful spring, summer and fall days with the animals. Winter gets a bit more challanging for folks. If you have any more questions about it, feel free to email me. Peace, Laura in MD cpsobczak writes: .. This year we asked for one that lives in thier NY shelter so we can go visit it.
