Guest guest
Has anyone seen this? I have seen a couple of mins. of it before the pay per view cuts you off. (if you aren't buying the movie) It " looks " really cute and benign. I know it didn't get great mainstream reviews but what do they know. Dd watched the first few mins with me and she was laughing out loud. I was hoping to get some opinions on any messages it might have that wouldn't go over well for a veg kid (family) or any thing that might me scary to a 4.5 year. old? Guest guest
My 4 year old loved this movie.I can't remember anything that stands out as being too adult. We especially like it because he is a cat that refuses to eat mice. Guest guest
I took my girls who are 4 1/2 and 6 over the summer. It's an o.k. movie. I don't think it has anything offensive in it. I don't remember everything about the movie since it was about six months ago. Some people steal Odie and they do mis-treat him, but the message in the end is that it's bad to mis-treat animals and Odie ends up back with Jon who loves him. My girls were not scared and they liked it. Kelly Dan & Mits <vegibrgr wrote: Has anyone seen this? I have seen a couple of mins. of it before the pay per view cuts you off. Guest guest
Hi My girls are ages 6, 4, and 21 months. We rented this movie for a fun " movie night " . We got the 2 older girls all set up in our bed, ready to watch it and they both ended up crying over Odie getting " stolen " by the bad guys. My husband and I watched the movie before we let the kids see it (you never know what is in movies and we always see them first). Our kids are very sensitive, particularly to animals, and while my husband and I did mention concern about the feel of the movie when Odie was taken, we didn't expect the reaction of tears. We tried to get the girls to watch the entire movie to see the happy ending and to ensure that they knew Odie was really fine and returned to his home in the end, but they just could not! We rarely can get through a movie--Mary Poppins seems to be the safest bet for such sensitive children. Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron; Brother Bear; and others have been met with sadness and tears. I will not allow them to watch Lion King as I think the death of the father lion is waaaay too much for them to handle. As a side note, unfortunately most movies (Disney as the prime offender) have storylines with children where one parent has died or is absent, which I think is inappropriate for young children. This could be a great discussion, even beyond the vegetarian/ animal rights topic regarding movies!
