Guest guest
Maybe you can try a different brand and see if that helps. If it does, great. If not, then you can go from there. Guest guest
My daughter had this problem too. It got to where she would throw up soy milk everytime she had it. I tried several types of milks, but we settled on cows milk. Not much help, sorry. :0) Sarah Momma to: Alexin ~ 3 Cameron ~ 14 m. My 1 year old recently switched from formula (milk and soy based) to drinking purely soy milk. The problem is, about every other time he drinks a cup of it, he throws it up. He didn't have any problems when he was drinking the soy formula, and he doesn't seem to have any other problems with soy food (yogurt, " chicken " nuggets, etc.), but it seems like the milk is making him sick. I've only tried giving him the Silk brand, I don't know if that has anything to do with it. My question is, has anyone else had similar problems? What have you used as milk? I want him to be getting SOME protein, he's very picky in what he eats right now, so the milk is his biggest source of protein. Are there any other soy milk brands that may be easier on a baby's stomach? I really don't want to end up giving him cow's milk, but if I can't find any better alternatives, I may have to. Any advice would help!! Katherine
Guest guest
Hi, My daughter is 1 year old now. I started her on Sun Soy soymilk when she was 7 months (along with breastmilk.) She didn't really like it at first but fortunately she never threw up. I used to mix it with a little chocolate syrup or make fruit smoothies with it until she got used to the taste. Now she loves it and usually drinks 2 full cups a day. I still make her smoothies for a treat. I have bought Silk before and I myself don't like it as much. Have you ever tried Almond or Rice milk? I don't think they have as many vitamins, but I don't really know too much about them. I know they taste good! If your child likes fruit, I would try making him some soymilk/fruit smoothies, but try something different than Silk. Hope it will help. Guest guest
Hey Mandy, Just FYI, Sun Soy isn't veg*n. The D vitamin is from animal sources. When it came out, I checked with them to make sure. They said it was of animal origin. Guest guest
It is very interesting that you brought this up now. Just this week we decided to try my 11 month old son on a small amount of soy milk for the first time. The first day we gave him some he did totally fine so we tried a little again the next day and not only did he throw it all up but proceded to throw up everything (including breast milk) that we tried to feed him for the next 4 hours. Needless to say, we are going to wait a while before trying that again and are decing if we want to go with cows milk instead, at least until he is 2 or so??????? , " The Isolas " <isolafamily@c...> wrote: > > > > My 1 year old recently switched from formula (milk and soy based) to > drinking purely soy milk.
