Guest guest
Hi all- I've just been reading posts for awhile. I agree with not patronizing McDonalds. My Daughter says yuck whenever she sees one. We don't have the veggie burger here anyway. We have the ones at burger king but aren't they cooked on the same grill as the meat? We stay away from fast food, too. Like some of you, we go prepared and pack a bunch of food. It's hard when family doesn't understand. I've been a veg for 17 years and my mother still questions it sometimes. Especially now that my daughter (who's almost 4) is one too. She thinks she is small because she doesn't eat meat and we are depriving her. Oh, well. She's happy and healthy, not to mention ethical. I'm wondering if anyone on the list is anywhere close to south central PA or north central MD? I think we are the only veggies within a 100 mile radius. I would love to have my daughter play with other veggie kids but I can't find any. All the playgroups around here meet at McDonalds! Well, hope everyone had a great weekend. Guest guest
www.vegfamily.com has a listing of local playgroups.. put in your state and you should be able to find one in your area. Guest guest
Chris & Anna - I'm in rural OK, nowhere near you, but wanted to say that I share your feelings of isolation! We are literally 100 miles from the closest non-religious veg group. We have two girls who will be 2 and 3 at the end of April, and a baby due the end of May. I have been vegetarian for 9 years now, and my family has really come around. They still eat some meat, but the amount continues to decline while their level of education continues to improve (only free-range now). It's great to see that positive impact!! They are supportive of our choice to raise our kids veg also. Our kids have never been to McDonald's, but we do occasionally eat at Taco Bell when we are traveling. There aren't any fast-food places where we live, and we are really happy about that. Good luck finding some playmates for your little one! Guest guest
We are in west PA. Not that close really. But, if you ever take a weekend trip out to Pittsburgh, we can tell you the good places to eat. By the way - since you are only a couple of hours away, I recommend that you check out OOHMAHNEE farm sanctuary. You can look them up on the web. , " tripleoxer8 " <tripleoxer8> wrote: > > > Hi all- > I've just been reading posts for awhile. I agree with not > patronizing McDonalds.
