Guest guest
What I find regrettable about it is that their (McD's) goal is to make kids even more familiar with their brand, and to create a positive association between a beloved children's program and their restaurant. The menu at McDonald's is not what I would call healthy for kids (with the exception of some " healthy " offerings like salads and yogurt--and how many kid are really choosing those?) So to me, McDonald's advertising with Sesame St. is not much better than, say, a tobacco company, They are both seeking their future clientele, and neither have the children's best interests at heart. McDonald's is not really interested in " supporting educational efforts for children. " Amy On Monday, April 11, 2005, at 09:29 AM, wrote: > Why is that bad news? Think about it... Think cereal makers really have the best interest of the child at heart? Please, just about every company is out to build a customer base. Be it for now or for the future when the children grow. That's what business is about. It's a parent's job to help them learn the difference. And as I said, it doesn't matter what McDonald's gives money to, a lot of people will still have a problem with it just because of who they are. I still say it's far better for them to give money to support an educational show than to do something else with it. ~~Jacqueline~~

Guest guest
Gayle, Okay, maybe I should have said candy manufacturer's. They market toward children but their best interest in the child is not at heart. The same holds true. ~~Jacqueline~~
Guest guest
But Jacqueline, not all cereals are as incredibly unhealthy and in fact cause serious health problems if consumed on a regular basis as does the food at McDonald's.
