Guest guest
I was discussing vegetarian yogurts with a friend who just recently went vegetarian and I said I know of about 3 brands that are vegetarian. Literally when we were still eating dairy I had checked every brand in the store and only found 3 brands that didn't have gelatin. We mainly eat the O'soy brand from Stonyfield farm so offhand I know there dairy version is vegetarian. But that is it. We also eat the Silk soy kind occasionally - my daughter is a Silk hater so we don't buy that much. Guest guest
The yogurt I just had is made with agar! Cool huh? It is Bio Best yogurt but I don't know who makes it as I threw the package away. I'm in Canada though so it might not be available in the US. Guest guest
I give my toddler organic yogurt daily, and it is all veg*n. I think that most of the organic yogurt makers are veg*n, although some have way too much added sugar (yo-baby is upsetting). Our current favorite is Seven Star Farms (from whole foods). The only sweetener, if any, is organic maple syrup. They also have plain. I was shocked a couple of weeks ago when I read the label on my mom's Dannon yogurt. It was marketed for healthiness/dieters - like low fat/calorie or something. It not only had gelatin, but it had high-fructose corn syrup (!! poison!!), plus sugar, and a bunch of other junk. Mom's an omni (I'm weaning her), and only reads the " headlines " on products, like SO many people. She's not ignorant (except for being an omni), just busy and trusting. Organic products might be more expensive, but to my husband and I, its worth it. Nikki , <jacqcote@n...> wrote: > > The yogurt I just had is made with agar! Cool huh?
