Does anyone have a recipe for home made vegan margarine? We live on

the west coast of Newfoundland, off the east coast of mainland Canada,

and getting a vegan margarine is ( so far ) impossible for us.

We have a great recipe for vegan Nanaimao bars, and Christmas is

coming...... :o) Would appreciate any ideas!

Thanks, Heather

Fleishman's Canola Margarine is vegan. It is pretty mainstream so you might be

able to find it. I live in Cape Breton so we are pretty much in the same boat

(so to speak). :)

Hi, there. Fellow Canadian whose wife was born in Corner Brook. :) I don't

have a recipe, but we use a Fleischmann's " Lactose Free " Non-hydrogenated

margarine that is vegan and has been mentioned in this group before. It

comes in a package of two in a yellow box with a red label and is great for

baking. You should be able to get it at the Sobey's there in Corner Brook or

at least ask them to order it for you.

Hope that helps!

Cheers,

Mark

Hi Mark,

You can usually get it in larger tubs (much cheaper) at Sobey's as well. That

is what we get. I usually buy two at a time because we don't usually shop at

that store but the Superstore only has the small containers.
