Hi--I feel silly posting something so frivolous when there are more important

things to discuss, but does Henna leave roots at all or does it all fade at the

same time? Is it a good way to naturally color your hair? Someone talk me into

or out of it. I have long medium to light brown hair and I'm looking for a

change. Thanks everyone.

Well Cynthia, I tried henna ONCE. I do not know what the experience has been for

others, but for me it was a nightmare! I wanted to add a more reddish tint to my

hair, i used henna and wow, i freaking looked like Ronald Mcdonald and it would

NOT come out! I had to cut it out. SOooooOOoo, I do not know if that has

happened to everyone, but me, I will never touch the stuff again. ~Shell

Hi Cynthia, I use henna. If you never used then in the beginning you should

start every third day for atleast four or five time continur this way, and then

every week, and then you can achive the beautiful colour.

This is how I prepare the paste:

- take regular henna three to four tablespoon or it could be more depends on how

much hair.

- about two or three tablespoon aloevera gel. It is optional, but I use it.

- prepare a one cup of regular tea, leave it for a while to get more dark

result., but this is optional, some time I use, and sometime I don't.

- add a few drops (two or three) of rosmary essential oil, this is also

optional. or if you want any other fragrance, or you don't need it upto you. I

use it.

Then make a paste first add aloevera gel, rosmary, and keep stirring and add tea

water as much as you need.

Sometime I prepare this paste in the night and morning time I use, and sometime

I use it right away. Warm is always good and release more colour.

You can warm it in any steel pot. or if you using right way hot tea then you

don't need it.

Use glove, not because of any danger but, because you will colour your hands.

Apply it as you like on the hair and leave it for atleast one hour, if you leave

it more than hour it is not harmful. I leave it sometime more than two hours.

And then on the same night massage your head with any hair oil whatever you like

that stablize the colour of henna. and next morning shapoo it. Well, I don't

massage always, but, that's what hair salon ladies suggest to do.

It is lot of work but, I have seen ladies who are using continuly, then they

have beautiful color. It doesn't look like a yellow uggly color.

Once you start to feel the difference you won't like anything else.

Henna can't lighten your hair, but it can add some nice red tones, and

the roots are not noticable. Good luck!
