Guest guest
I just want to say that I have had nothing but exceptionally pleasant results with Whole Foods Market, particularly the Kentlands store. Most recently, I put in a product request for the Follow Your Heart cheese. In less than a week, the cheddar version appeared on the shelf. Hubby said it was just by chance, so I asked at Customer Service, and the CSR told me that they got it in per a customer request! That rocks! Once I complained about their organic peaches going bad too quickly... they sent me a heartfelt apology, explaination, and a gift! That rocks too! When I made the same complaint at Giant (mainstream grocery store around here) food stores online, I got a pretty nasty letter in response. They basically told me (in about 500 words) that I was crazy and was welcome to shop elsewhere. I'm sure that the moldy organic peaches were a problem with the supplier or shipping conditions, but Giant lost my business right at a point where they were about to secure it. The only reason I'm sharing this is to encourage each one of you to express your concerns and issues with retailers. We consumers really can control the marketplace. Happy shopping! Guest guest
Hey - thanks for that info - nice to know that Whole Foods is a customer oriented business - I will be going to the store more often. Guest guest
They don't have a vegetarian DHA supplement - the one they had that was made with seaweed had gelatin in it. I was very disappointed. I suppose I should've complained - I just decided to order it online. I can't remember if I replied to this already about the supplement. Guest guest
Just in case you needed one more reason to shop there ... Did you ever wonder what the Kentlands WFM does with the leftover produce, after it is overripe, or maybe just the expiration date expires on the bags of lettuce, etc.? Well I know that some of it gets donated to the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary in Poolesville, MD. (Refer to: http://www.animalsanctuary.org/ ). As a volunteer out there I've had the pleasure of tossing out some really high quality expired produce to the pigs. And do they love it! (Other animals get fed, as well, but I haven't had the pleasure.) The folks at Poplar Spring tell me that they could benefit from even more WFM donations if more people could volunteer to pick up the old produce from WFM and haul it out to the sanctuary. If anybody in the Gaithersburg, MD area wants to get invovled, you can contact info to work out the logistics. - Alan , " lilmunkydunk " <lilmunkydunk@a...> wrote: > > I just want to say that I have had nothing but exceptionally pleasant > results with Whole Foods Market, particularly the Kentlands store. Guest guest
That is the best news I've heard all day, Alan! I think I could totally help with transporting some produce! We have a mini-van and a pick up truck. I just read that the founder and president of WFM has gone vegan!!!! YAY!!! Is it a great time to be vegetarian or what?
