Guest guest
I gave carob chips a try last night and they were a big hit with my son. Since my son actually slept through the night after eating them, they were a big hit with me too. Here's the question, do all carob chips have fractionated palm kernel oil in them? I could only find Chatfields brand at my local health food store, and although it was dairy free, it had fractionated palm kernel oil in it. Does anyone have a brand they use without this? Guest guest
Sunspire has fractionated palm kernal oil too. It also annoys me that the unsweetened variety is not vegan. We want vegan, unsweetened, without bad oils! , Katie Mangan <kmangan33> wrote: > > I gave carob chips a try last night and they were a big hit with my son. Guest guest
That's what I was afraid of. Sometimes I feel like finding healthy options is becoming a treasure hunt of sorts. Doesn't anyone in the food industry understand that this stuff (tropical oils) are bad for you??? I guess what really irks me is that I feel the natural food store should be a " safe haven " but there's just as much garbage in some of the food there as everywhere else. Thanks for letting me know about Sunspire. lilmunkydunk <lilmunkydunk wrote: Sunspire has fractionated palm kernal oil too. It also annoys me that the unsweetened variety is not vegan. Guest guest
I'm going to write Sunspire and ask them to change their recipe. Maybe you could do the same. It is hard sometimes finding healthier options, but I was in a regular grocery store the other and felt like I was in a poison factory. The natural food stores, while not perfect, are still years ahead the other guys. Nikki , Katie Mangan <kmangan33> wrote: > > That's what I was afraid of.
