Guest guest
Last night my newly vegetarian 10yo son, decided to show my 13yo daughter http://www.themeatrix.com/ She announced last night that she is now going vegetarian!! This is the child that I had been working on now for years! In one night my son convinced her. I am soooooo proud of him! How amazing is that? Whenever I tried to talk to her about vegetarianism she would say maybe when I'm older or I don't want to know about it. Now, they have always eaten a vegetarian diet in my home but not when they were at their dad's, at friends or when they go out to restaurants. I'm just really happy that they have made this choice. Their dad won't be so happy but he'll have to deal with that. I'll teach them some easy things to make when they are there and they'll do fine. He also lives in a veggie friendly area so it won't be hard to find some ready made food for them (unlike here, 5 hours away). Jared was really looking sad last night, like he might cry about the things he has recently learned about animals. I told him to try not to take it inside too much. That he can't change the world by himself but he is changing his own little corner of it. And his face brightened right up and he said, " Yes, I got Jessica to stop eating meat! " It was so good to show him that although bad things are happening he has made a really positive contribution all by himself! I guess I'm still in shock about Jessica. She was such a die hard carnivore. Now she is saying that she is glad that she is making this change because she will be healthier and less likely to get heart disease! Wow! My youngest son (4yrs) has been vegetarian from birth. Jacqueline http://adhdnme.blogspot.com

Guest guest
Jacqueline, This is wonderful! All of the seeds you have planted with her over the years just needed a bit more encouragement to grow, and it sounds like Jared and the movie really got through to her. What great kids! Guest guest
Hey, that's awesome! Oh, how they like to rebel against Mom, even when deep down they know mom is right! I'm glad her inspiration came from someone she loves. Your kids will be lifelong partners in this compassionate life journey. Hopefully your ex will see that while vegetarianism is not for him, that he should just be supportive and helpful, and be proud that she has come to this decision from a pure and lovely place. Remind him that if he does this, he will certainly be her hero! The best gift my mom ever gave me was her emotional support. Happy day! Guest guest
It would be nice if that is what he does. I'm crossing my fingers on this one. My daughter might be swayed by his remarks but I really don't think my son will be.
