Guest guest
Hi, Everyone! I've mean meaning to post this for the longest time, but would only remember when I didn't have the article in front of me, didn't have time, and a number of other excuses. Well, maybe it's more appropriate to save until now anyway since we've been posting Hanukkah/Chanukah recipes this week. Here goes finally: List member Miriam Rudnick snail-mailed me a copy of a 11/2/00 article from " The Jewish Ledger " , a Rochester, New York newspaper founded in 1924. It was one of their feature sections called " The Jewish Internet " by Mark Mietkiewicz. He wrote a two-part article called " Kosher Vegetarianism " . The 11/2/00 one was part two, where he referenced various websites, newsgroups, etc. and he mentioned OUR list, Veg-Recipes -- the only e-mail list mentioned in the article. That part of the article states, " Or you can join a general (not specifically kosher) e-mail list for vegetarian recipes [Veg-Recipes]. " I don't know how Mr. Mietkiewicz found out about the list, but I'm very flattered that he chose to include it in his article. I'm also curious if we got any new rs from this mention. Thanks to Miriam for telling me about it and sending me a copy!! Karen List Owner
Guest guest
Karen - while talking about publications - I just opened my December/January issue of Kitchen Gardener and there is a very good article entitled " Pairing Pasta and Greens " by Deborah Madison. Most of her recipes in this article do include milk and/or cheese. She is the author of " Vegetable Cooking for Everyone " . The recipes included in the article are: Gnocchi Pasta with Radicchio, White Beans, and Rosemary Spinach-Angel hair Soufflé Pasta with Savoy Cabbage, Black Kale and Sage Lasagna with Chard, Ricotta and Walnuts If you haven't looked at the Kitchen Gardener, they usually have some excellent recipes for vegetables, not usually Vegan, but ovo-lacto usually.
