Guest guest Posted May 7, 2001 Report Share Posted May 7, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Lemon Rice Soup Recipe By :Debra Wasserman, Simply Vegan Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Soups Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 small onion -- chopped or 3 scallions 1/2 head small cabbage -- shredded 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/8 teaspoon black pepper 1/8 teaspoon turmeric 2 tablespoons oil 3 cups cooked rice 8 cups water or vegetable broth 1/4 cup lemon juice 1 cup nutritional yeast flakes 1 tablespoon tamari soy sauce Saute onion or scallions, cabbage and spices in oil for 5 to 8 minutes. Add rice, broth or water, lemon juice, yeast and soy. Simmer another 10 minutes.
