Guest guest
Hey everyone! I need help. Men, please speak up. I'm planning a romantic picnic Saturday night and need some pointers on foods, drinks and sweets. It's going to be very dark outside...We'll be on a blanket up the banks of the Colorado River. I need to check on the moon phase to see how lit up the sky will be. Anyway, hopefully there will be plenty of stars. And I will have about a dozen candles. What would be some great finger foods to take? Incorporating of course any sort of aphrodisiac ingredients;) Then there is the drink. I was wanting a nice bottle of merlot but would that be too cliche? And dessert! I must have dessert! Any suggestions would be nice. It's been ages since we've gone out on a date. I'm trying to be as sneaky as possible, btw. And, I'm clueless. TIA, Allison Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus. Guest guest
Here's some ideas for refreshment. These wines are splendid, but they're local to me and might not be available nationally. V Sattui Winery, California " Muscat, " 1993 (the quality is pretty consistent, so the year probably won't matter). Lawrence J Bargetto Winery, Central Coast " Dolcetto, " 1998 (actually, everything from Bargetto's is very good). Also, from Bargetto's, Chaucer's " Plum Wine, " my favorite!! Thinking about your special date, I see stuffed grape leaves and other Greek things which can be easily and conveniently fed to your conquest. Don't forget big juicy grapes... Guest guest
I will do a search on the internet for the wines to check whether or not I can get them here. Thank you so much. Rolled grape leaves...Wonderful idea, and my husband does love them. Warmly, Allison --- daveo <daveo wrote: > Here's some ideas for refreshment. He's a lucky lucky man! I wish there was somewhere nice to do this sort of thing here. There is a mountain but its very cold and i suspect very unsafe at night. Its also not that big so you'd get interrupted by various people trampling round! Anyway, back to the situation at hand. It sounds like Dave has suggested some good wine, and i think the grape leaves are a very good idea. For dessert i'd go for grapes and eat them from the bunch, and also strawberries with mint sugar. To make mint sugar all you do is get a large handful of mint leaves and probably a few teaspoons of sugar and bash them up together in a pestle and mortar. Its obviously going to up the calories but if you're careful with the amount of sugar you put in it'd probably be ok. Also a little goes a long way. If you prep the strawbs and then sprinkle this on top like a light dusting its really delicious! I'd also suggests some crudites (raw veg) and asparagus tips (aphrodisiac), cooked al dente, with some dip. And maybe some special bread, like tomato and olive focaccia or rosemary ciabatta, that you could break up and eat with your hands. Ooh i'm getting hungry now! I think i'll definitely plan something like this soon, my boyfriend would really appreciate it. Hope this helps, and i hope you have a great night Allison, Laura
