Guest guest
I'm having a wonderful time this last few weeks with learning new ways to cook veggies. You know how one gets into a rut with recipes? Me too. Well, recently I have started ordering my vegetables from an organic food supplier (there's a great organic food market just a couple of blocks from us, but it's a tad expensive) who delivers to one's home once a week. Each week they offer us a 'box' of vegetables - plus a few others on the substitute list (like, don't need potatoes this week? order the yams instead or the asparagus or . . .) They're reasonable, considering they're organic, and the produce is squeaky fresh ;=) What I've been trying to do is order the things I don't usually buy - and having got them in the house, in the fridge, I'm ransacking recipe books to find new ways of cooking them - and doing it low fat. With luck I might come across a few that will qualify for our Vegetarian Slimming recipe page ;=) Wish me luck - I'm off to try to use up the zuccini in a slightly different way *LOL* Best, Pat -- SANTBROWN townhounds/ http://www.angelfire.com/art/pendragon/ ---------- * " He who is cruel to animals becomes hard also in his dealings with men. Guest guest
I am having the hardest time waiting till the first week of June. I have signed up for an organic farm near me to deliver once a week! They have a mixed box of produce and though you know what they will be growing, you never know what will be included in the box. I love veggie surprises and this one will have me totally over the tops till about the middle of November!!! I honestly urge any of you who might have access to this sort of thing to try it - first of all you get to support a local farm which is really great in itself but second you have amazing organic produce for next to nothing of what you would pay in the grocery store for it. Guest guest
The only place that I can buy orgainc veggies from is in Edmonton. A 4 and half hour drive from where I live. I will be going in, in June and will check it out and see what I can buy. Bridget...If you truly love Nature, you will find beauty everywhere. - Vincent Van GoghPost your free ad now!
