Guest guest
Joel Furhman, Eat to Live is the book title. Just read most of it last night. QUITE a good read, lots of studies, lots of explanations of what's wrong with everyone's diet and takes on the current " hot " diet fads (Atkins, the Zone, Sugar Busters, Mediterranean Diet, etc). This book is not strictly a vegetarian book (but practically....it is). He takes the complexity out of vegetarianism, puts in a solid dose of science and adds a dash of humor. I HIGHLY recommend this book for the following folks: People that have weight issues-esp. those of us that feel we have metabolic resistence to dieting People new to vegatarinism looking for simple easy to understand primer People that have all health issues but particularly: diabetes arthritis high cholesterol People that THINK they are familiar with good nutrition People that want to convince others that eating meat is NOT HEALTHY for you. Gosh, I think that takes in just about everyone, doesn't it? Anyway, I guess you can tell I'm pretty impressed with this book lynn
Guest guest
This is very interesting. Dr. Furhman proposes a 40-30-30 diet as being well-balanced and I would assume the best one from his point of view. I wonder if anyone has ever told him that his numbers translate into the identical numbers used in THE ZONE. How strange is that since he spends his time telling us what's wrong with The Zone? Go figure!!! Dave purpleshirtredhat [purpleshirtredhat] Saturday, June 28, 2003 8:52 AM Book Recommendation Joel Furhman, Eat to Live is the book title. Just read most of it last night. Guest guest
I didn't get a 40-30-30 ratio out of his book at all. Sure we're talking about the same guy/book? What did I miss? tia, lynn This is very interesting. Dr. Furhman proposes a 40-30-30 diet as being well-balanced and I would assume the best one from his point of view.
