Guest guest
I'm so pleased to hear everyone is doing well with their goals! I just recently got a walking buddy..my bf has started going on walks with me in the evening. I think my 'return to health' has inspired him. He recently gave up his sweet tea..which is usually all he requires to lose as much weight as he wants. (sickening really) Seems like I'm fighting warriors every lb I go. I've made more modifications to my diet, but regular exercise is def. the trick for me..physically and mentally. I now try to workout most days of the week..either walking outside when the weather permits, treadmill, or going to the gym. When it gets warmer, I think I'll try swimming too. Sounds fun and would be a nice change up. Just about time for me and my sweety to go walking. Hope to talk to you guys soon, karen
Guest guest
Hello Karen ;=) Good for you for persuading your bf to keep you company on walks - it's always nicer when there's more than one. Btw, meant to tell you that last week my dh asked me if there was a bean recipe lying around he could try (we share the cooking). I directed him to your Beans with Mango recipe (is that the right name for it? Something like that) on the recipe page and he made it with a few necessary changes cuz we didn't have everything in that he needed. Black beans cuz they were there and cooked, pineapple instead of mango, fresh jalapeno pepper instead of pickled. He pronounced it delish and so did I. We had it over brown rice. Can't wait to try the real version sometime! Thanks ;=) Also - today I started on a kind of McDougall regime - gonna give it a little while to see if it works for me. If not, then I'll try something else ;=) Wish me luck! Best with your exercise stints! Chat later. Guest guest
I'm so pleased that you liked it! Feel free ta call it whatever you like I actually use black beans in mine as well. I just love black beans...if given a choice I'll always choose those over refried. The pineapple in your husband's version sounds delicious. I like fresh pineapple a lot, I just can't keep it around too much. I end up snacking on it and its way to acidic for my mouth take it. Which is just torture b/c I love it so. Good luck on the McDougall plan. I've read some of the info on his site and it def seems like I healthy diet. karen I directed him > to your Beans with Mango recipe (is that the right name for it? > Something like that)
Guest guest
Oh that recipe is definitely a keeper!! ;=) And we were thinking of other variations too. Nice to have something like that to work with - cuz I don't think either of us has ever put fruit with beans before and it was a whole new idea. Silly, because we add mango to Indian Dhal in some recipes, but there it is ;=) Thanks again ;=) Best, Pat > I'm so pleased that you liked it!
