Guest guest
After all the talk about McDougall last week, I decided to order two of their books. They arrived yesterday and I sat up far too late last night reading. :-) I ordered the program for maximum weight loss and the quick and easy cookbook. I was really surprised by how much sense what he says in the book makes. BUT my biggest surprise was --- I asked my husband if he would support me for 28 days of a "radical" plan. I just knew that would be what he would think it was. So I explained in short the plan and that I wanted to commit the month of February to making the change to a low fat vegan diet. Now for the surprise part -- he wants to try it with me!!! His exact words were he will eat whatever I fix to eat. Since I do all the cooking anyway, the only extras for me will be making his snacks for him to carry along and shopping for produce once a week instead of every few. So from February 1 to 28 -- but is this leap year? Anyway for the month of February we are going to give it our best. Then at the end of that month we're going to review our progress and pitfalls to help us decide if it is a lifestyle we want to continue. Thank you all for the encouragement, Shara

Guest guest
That's really great! Soooo nice when you have company on a diet ;=) As it is now, for the very first time, I'm on my own on this diet, since my dh is working to keep his weight up since we both went vegan at the beginning of last year. What a cross, eh? *lol* Anyway, he's supportive - very - and it might mean only one of us gets rotten cravings at inopportune times! Good luck with the diet - and do tell us how it goes. I've lost just less than a pound (0.4 kg) in three days. It'd be neat if it kept going off at the same rate. We'll see ;=) If this once doesn't work for me I can always find one that does! Best, Pat ;=) -- SANTBROWN townhounds/ vegetarianslimming/ HOMEPAGE: http://www.angelfire.com/art/pendragon/ ---------- * " There are too many idiots in this world. Guest guest
Wow!!! I LOVE to hear about supportive husbands!!! My husband also, is being great about our newer eating habits, I am trying to make the transition non-traumatic for him. He has many gastric issues and has been feeling better…what better motivation could there be to stay on this track! I have not read any of McDougall’s works. Guess I better get with the program!
