Guest guest
I just thought I'd write this in so that anyone else that is interested might try it. I have not had much luck with tofu. I have a " TOM TOFU " recipe that works well and tastes very close to chicken fingers, but the rest of my TOFU attempts haven't worked out very well. Welllllllllll, yesterday I thought that I'd give it a try again, so I pressed some firm tofu between a couple of towels for a couple of hours, then sliced it, put it in a baking dish with sliced up carrots, Zucchini, onion, and mushrooms, and then just threw about 1/4 cup of my favorite BBQ sauce on it and roasted it in a 400 oven for about 40 mins, and YUMMY! It was really good! Surprised the heck out of me :0) and ended up being only about 150 cals per serving (4 servings). Stef
Guest guest
Had it for dinner tonight and it was great! Thanks for the recipe! Linda
Guest guest
*lol* didn't know chickens had fingers. Not sure I'd want something that tasted like chicken me*t myself, but that might please all those who are newly veg and still craving the taste ;=) As for your bbq tofu, that does sound really really good! Tofu has the wonderful quality of taking on the flavours of the things cooked with it - or of course picking up all the flavours from a marinade. We use it quite often - also tempeh, which has a deeper flavour. I made a fake 'Kukul Mas' yesterday - translates as Golden Chicken, I'm told - and shall post the recipe soonest. It does take coconut milk, which isn't very slimming, but it is very nice in small amounts now and then ;=) Best, Pat -- SANTBROWN townhounds/ vegetarianslimming/ HOMEPAGE: http://www.angelfire.com/art/pendragon/ ---------- * " There are too many idiots in this world. Guest guest
Yes, I have saved it too (though not tried it yet since I am missing one vital ingredient: BBQ sauce! *lol*) cuz it looks so good and is so easy to put together. Could the originator of the recipe (oh dear, who was it? too early in the morning!) please write it up and copy it into the files section??? I think we don't want to lose this one!!! Best, Pat ;=) lindiny wrote: > > Had it for dinner tonight and it was great! > > Thanks for the recipe! > -- SANTBROWN townhounds/ vegetarianslimming/ HOMEPAGE: http://www.angelfire.com/art/pendragon/ ---------- * " There are too many idiots in this world.
