Guest guest
Hi Debbie, Yeah, I know what you mean. Before I moved up to BC, I didn't eat much of a variety of veggies. I lived alone, worked long hours and ate a lot of frozen foods. When I met my husband and we moved in together, well, to say that he was just the opposite is an understatement. He ate so many fresh veggies and fruits and since he was in good shape, I figured that I'd give it a try. Those first coupla years, well I thought that I would die from the bloating. So anyways, this is what I have learned since then. Slowly increase foods that cause gas. Little by little, your digestive system will start processing it better. Until then, the one thing that I did find worked for me was BEANO. Have you seen it before? You can take it in pill or drop form and I found that it was very helpful. There is also something that you can buy at a natural foods store, but I can't remember the name, though I know it starts with an " e " (not much help, I know), but if you cook things like beans with it, it is supposed to help a lot. Also, since I use a lot of canned beans in recipes, I would suggest rinsing them first. I have been told that by rinsing them, you rinse away a lot of the starches that my you gassy. And, though it cooks away some of the nutrients, veggies like broccolli, cauliflower, and cabbage seem to lose some of their gassy qualities when you cook them well. Just some thoughts! Guest guest
A problem with Candida can sometimes cause gassiness. Beware of sugars, including honey and molasses, refined carbs, fermented foods and fungi, as well as yeasted breads, etc. Linda
