Unsweetened shredded wheat good, I agree ;) I was surprised to learn

that frosted mini-wheats use gelatin as an ingredient (who would

think that boiled-down animal parts would be a cereal ingredient!).

We usually have that was a small bowl of Spoon Sized Shredded Wheat,

not the sweetened one, but the " no extra ingredient " one. Very yummy

way to start the day!

******OH SHOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just had a bowl last evening as a

snack. I would have never thought to look for gelatin in Frosted Mini

Wheats. Pardon my language but " Damn! " I hate feeling like I've been

tricked.

Hi Stef,

Know what you mean about the frosted mini-wheats. I used to eat them

all the time too, with rice milk. Then one day in the grocery, I looked

at the ingredients and was shocked. Guess that the gelatin is mixed

with sugar to make the frosting.

Regards,

Karen

Is there no end to their treachery! :=O But seriously, folks, it pays to read

ingredients carefully. I don't myself normally eat cereal (unless I'm travelling

and there's this breakfast buffet and . . . . ;=)) except for the occasional

bowl of

oatmeal at home - but I'll be especially careful in future. I hadn't thought of

that. So many thanks.

Best,

Pat
