Guest guest
I have two granny smith apple trees in my backyard loaded with apples ready for eating but I don't really have many recipes. Can you share your favorite low-fat apple recipes? I'd especially like one for a low-sugar apple sauce. I've made so many apple pies already... Guest guest
This is very low-fat, just a little something to sort of satisfy a sweet tooth. Cinnamon Apple Crisps 2 small apples, sliced paper thin 1 tbsp sugar ½ tsp cinnamon 1. preheat oven to 200 degrees 2. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper, not waxed paper. Place sprinkled apple slices in a single layer. 3. Bake until lightly browned, about 2 hours. 4. Cool on rack.

Guest guest
hi, i have posted a recipe for a fresh apple cake that is a great recipe. any recipe that calls for sugar you can use splenda instead. you just substitute the exact amount of splenda for sugar. you can also make applesauce with a little splenda instead of sugar. just cut up and cook the apples with a little bit of water. ad the splenda, cinnamon, a pinch of ground allspice and a pinch of nutmeg, all to taste. either mash it with a potato masher if you like it chunky or put it in a food processer if you like it smooth. the fresh apple cake recipe should be listed in this site with the other recipes but if you need it again let me know. by the way you could also add some raisins or dried cranberries to the applesauce if you wanted to make it a little more interesting. shari

Guest guest
You could try Stevia as a sweetener also. Its natural, unlike splenda and nutri-sweet, although I dont care for it in hot things myself. Im Heather by the way. Guest guest
i am not that familiar with stevia as far as baking. spenda is my sugar free sugar of choice because it is made from sugar and it works well in cooking because, unlike other artificial sweeteners, it holds up well at very high temperatures. shari
Guest guest
we discovered it (Splenda) doesn't work real well in homemade ice cream. Freash is fine but when you freeze what you don't eat immediately, it gets funky & 'too' frozen.
