Guest guest
> But - this list is not set to accept attachments - sorry .... > You will need to send privately ;=) That's what I blythely wrote earlier today - and went away for lunch and goodness knows what else. Well aren't you all a nice polite bunch of people who didn't like to contradict me! ;=) I have just received word that indeed the picture of the little kitten did get through - and as it actually says on the webpage this list *does* accept attachments. (Wonder when that happened ? Always? How on earth??? Siggghhhhhhh. I need a holiday!!!) So yes, we receive attachments ;=) And since it is set that way, I see no reason to change it to the way I thought it had been set earlier this summer LOL If it causes a problem in the future, then we might reconsider, but for now, attachments it is!!! Just take it easy on the size and number of them, okay? Some people have limited space in their mailboxes. Best, Pat ;=)
Guest guest
>>>So yes, we receive attachments ;=) Not really, lol. I went looking for it & the attachment is there but the pic/file wasn't stored by & is no longer there. *sigh* Bethie

One of the reasons I don't like attachments - unless it's the kind of list that members need to send things to each other all the time (these exist, although i'm not now and never have been on one of em - different interests) is this kind of problem. Okay, if I now send you an email with an attachment - say a photo of my non-existent 5-layer double-chocolate cream-filled caramel-sauced hallowe'en-decorated lentil-and-turnip cake - you will receive it only if you have edited your membership to receive individual emails. You will not be able to receive it if you getting your emails via digest - strips attachments from digests - and of course if you prefer to read, as I do, all messages on the webpage you will be out of luck cuz doesn't save them. So, only members receiving individual mails get attachments. No point sending the cake photo then, eh? ;=) Also, of course attachments take up a lot of space in mailboxes and can also harbour viruses. They sometimes take a little while to download too ;=) which is annoying for those who pay for their online time by the hour or have limited hours. So I won't send the cake photo after all LOL Best love, Pat ;=)
Guest guest
So I won't send the cake photo after all LOL Hey Pat! Have another cuppa tea & put it on the website not in a post/email. Sounds like a great cake. *giggle* Bethie Win 1 of 4,000 free domain names from Enter now.

Guest guest
This is the same reason I, as a moderator on 3 other lists, don't allow stationary. They harbour viruses (virii?) and spyware too. Linda, the lady who sent the cat picture and started all this LOL. Also, of course attachments take up a lot of space in mailboxes and can also harbour viruses.
