Val, take any recipe & leave out the salt. Use low sodium products. You can do

it! Beth

Thanks Beth!!!

Look, I'm really really sorry one of us didn't get back to you, Val, since you

first

posted your request 2 days ago - on a Sunday, when is notorious for

messing around with the websites, the emails and everything else cuz they're

repairing and upgrading stuff, right? Heavens, some members have had no

mail at all from since last week!!!

But I have to agree with my friend Beth. Many people here do not use salt or

sodium for themselves - they may include it for their families who do prefer it,

or not, but many are cutting down on salt for the sake of their health. Recipes,

however, continue to include salt (and when it's optional we say optional) and

one can put it in or leave it out, as required by your diet or taste.

If low sodium, as Beth says, leave it out. So no tamari, ketjap manis, soy

sauce, and practically no canned, jarred or packaged products unless they

say they are sodium free. But you know this, right?

Recipes without? That's a matter of taste. Some things to me taste dreadful

without a little salt - but I find I can get by very nicely if I add a little

more of

various herbs and also a little more pepper or chili.

This is a low-fat group, so you can pretty well guarantee that most things

coming across the screen will be low fat ;=) And most of what I post - tho not

all - is both egg-free and dairy-free - as well as the recipes posted by vegan

members and some non-vegan members. Occasionally there may be a little

more fat than is 'low' fat in a recipe - but then it is assumed that it will be

consumed in small quantities or consumed on a special-occasion basis.

So far we have made no restrictions whatsoever on sodium content in any

recipes and have no plans to do so. That does not mean, however, that salt

cannot be left OUT of a recipe (unless required for taking out the liquid of

some vegetables, or because an intrinsic ingredient is, say, soy sauce). Most

people here manage just fine LOL

I'm sorry you were disturbed by not getting an immediate answer to your

question. No offense was intended - but hey, you know that! ;=0

Best as always,

Pat ;=)
