Guest guest
Hello everyone, I'se been gawn cos I's bin sick, and still am, kinda. YUK! I have strep and felt pretty cruddy for a couple of days. Am now on penicillin and don't feel ill any more; but it still hurts like heck to swallow, even though my throat isn't sore. Maybe the glands are still swollen or something, I don't know; but I'm getting better for sure! I agree with Morgan............ lots of good info has been coming thru, and I can't wait to try the Tuscan Winter Stew. Sounds yummy! See ya later Carole
Guest guest
Hi Carole, So sorry that you're not feeling well. Have you tried gargling with warm salt water? It helps to relieve sore and aching throats. Hope that you're feeling better soon! Regards, Karen
Guest guest
Hi Karen, Yes, salt water does help. I think my glands going down helped too. Last night I found if I pressed in on the glands (on either side of your throat, just under the jawbone) as I swallowed that it didn't hurt to swallow. Weird, huh? It helped get me thru though. It's hurt once in a while today; but it's getting better all the time. At least I can swallow without grimmacing! LOL!! Thanks for your concern\Hugs Carole kleelibby wrote: Hi Carole, So sorry that you're not feeling well. Have you tried gargling with warm salt water? It helps to relieve sore and aching throats. Guest guest
Carole--Glad you're feeling better! I have had that kind of sore throat many times, where you press on one side and it doesn't hurt. No clue what that is! Echinacea and goldenseal, vitamin C and zinc, and garlic and parsley tablets will get you through. Those are my " arsenal " anyway, FWIW. That and some nice hot soup! Guest guest
Hi Marilyn, I had thought about increasing the Vit C. Can't complain though. Dec of 1999 I had Pneumonia, and when I was over it, my Dr sent me to the immunization clinic for a pneumonia shot. This is the first time I have been sick since then. Not even the sniffles! Five years is pretty good, I think. Carole sahmomof8 wrote: Carole--Glad you're feeling better! I have had that kind of sore throat many times, where you press on one side and it doesn't hurt.
