Guest guest
> How do you put photos on your site..... Okay, taking you at your word here. Here's how - UPLOADING PHOTOS TO VEGETARIANSLIMMING - MAC VERSION 1. Go the the vegetarianslimming webpage at vegetarianslimming/ 2. Click into Photos in the menu on the LH side of the webpage. (New page comes up.) 3. Look up to the top left of this new page and see Create Albums. Click there. (New page comes up) 4. Look to the top left of this new page and see `Please name this . . .' and directly underneath it is a box for you to enter the name of your album: Pat's Mob (for example). Below that are buttons to click to say who you want to be able to share this with. Click on the second button `Personal' to say that only you and the moderator can mess around with it ;=) Below that, in the centre, is another button to click: Create Album. Do so. (New page comes up) 5. Look to top left of this new page and see Add Photo. Click into that. (New page comes up) 6. Look here and see that there are a series of numbered boxes and buttons. The first will say (just as will all the others) `Browse' so click into that without filling in anything else yet. Now, on my Mac a new *box* comes up to let me browse my computer. 7. Find the photo you want to upload (just one right now) and click into it. With any luck you should get another box showing the photo you have selected. 8. Somewhere in that space there should be a thingie to tell you to `Open' that file (that's what's on my Mac anyway, on the lower right). Do so. That should take you right back to the place where you were when you first clicked `Browse', except now one of the lines to the *left* of the Browse button will be filled in with the name of the file (eg. pat.jpg). Directly *below* is a place to type in a caption for the photo (eg. Pat asleep) - do that. 9. Repeat this Browse and select, etc. process for all photos you want to upload (I suggest, though, that for this trial run you just settle for one - less frustrating if there is an error - and add the others once you see how easy it is). Now go down to the foot of that page where you have the name of your file and the caption and you'll see, in the middle, a button that says `Upload'. Click it. (New page comes up) 10. That new page is the page inside the album you have just created. It will show you a thumbnail of your photo. You've *DONE* it! 11. NOW, if you want to see the photo properly, click into that thumbnail and see your photo in a medium size. Okay? Wanna upload some more? Go * back* to the thumbnail page and look to the top of the page and see Add Photo. 12. Click into that and you're off again as in no. 6 above). Do the rest of your photos the same say. NOW - tell us the name of your album and we'll all have a peek! What fun ;=) Good luck! Best love, Pat ;=)

Well I worked through the procedure but for a PC and it was pretty much the same, except in the " Browse " phase I could select the photo by clicking, didn't need to say " Open " or anything (step #8). Guest guest
Thanks for that! ;=) I've rarely used a PC and certainly not for uploading photos, so I haven't a clue. If my First Timers lesson is any use to those who have never uploaded photos to a webpage, I'll be happy. I agree: It's nice to see those smiles! Guest guest
Hey, I was just sending off my last when I realized what you'd said: > Well I worked through the procedure. . . And of course there you two are smiling at us! Great to see the photos - love to J. Pat ;=)

Yes that was at an " alternative " wedding we went to in July, the first in the family for years - we were told to dress informally and that was the result. The bride favours a vegetarian diet too, so there was plenty to eat :-) About the photos, another hint that came to mind - when uploading photos it might be worth while to delete the " full size " version in most cases - this is usually much larger than the normal size ( " screen size " as distinct from the " thumbnail " size) but is retained by in case you want a good copy for printing, unless you click the option " Delete full size only " . It seems we have 30 MB total which would soon go if all 453 members uploaded a few full size photos! Exceptions in the case of e.g. cartoons which are more easily legible in their full size version. The photo of us was taken by a dear friend we hadn't seen in four years - from Australia - and we were all meeting up in NYC. The restaurant vaguely in the background is vegan: Han Gawi, in Manhattan. Great food! > About the photos, another hint that came to mind - when uploading photos it > might be worth while to delete the " full size " version in most cases . . . That would really help - that way we can put up lots of photos!!! ;=) I'll add that note into the tips on uploading photos. Best, Pat ;=)
