Guest guest
Hi Karen Thanks for the welcome I have a feeling I read somewhere that dogs can become vegetarian but cats can't. In any case, as my Sammy was a feral before he came here and would rather catch himself a fresh mouse than eat the food I provide for him, I'd be on a hiding to nothing if I tried to change his habits! Cheese - oh, I miss cheese! That was one of the best things about being on a traditional low-carb diet - I used to eat pounds of the stuff! Slimming World lets you have up to 2oz a day in exchange for your milk allowance so, having seen how *small* an ounce of cheese is, I've been sticking to milk. And I *do* miss it! Ah well - I lost three stones (14lbs) last year so, if I can do the same this year then I'll be at my target and can re-introduce some cheese. I ordered an organic veg + fruit box last night and also some akudi (sp?) beans - does anyone know how to cook them or have some recipies? Guest guest
Laura, Don't be surprised if when you reintroduce cheese into your diet you don't care much for it. When we omit things that are high in fat, such as cheese from our diets for awhile and then try to put them back, many people find them to be greasy or oily tasting. Also, there sometimes can be a problem with reintroducing these things into our bodies. Our bodies gets used to not having those foods and they haves a difficult time readjusting to them and digesting them. It can take a bit of time to get used to not having the cheese, but there are so many other things to eat in a veg*n (= vegetarian or vegan) that if you don't focus on what you " can't " have, many times you find yourself not only not missing those " forbidden " items but looking forward to all the new ways of cooking and eating that veg*n eating opens up. Congratulations on your wonderful weight lose! You are doing a super job! God's Peace, Gayle
