My husband, kids and I are leaving late this afternoon for a month long trip to

Florida.

He was offered the trip last week to work at the Cape for a month and we jumped

on the idea of a nice, long vacation. We are in California so it will be a

loooong trip

for the two kids (ages 2 and 5) but i know it will be way fun!

We'll be staying on Cocoa Beach. So anyone in FL - can you tell me of any

must-eat-at

restaurants that are vegan friendly or anything else that is a must-do (besides

taking

the kids to disney world). I looked online for vegan friendly restaurants but

couldn't

find much. Maybe i'm just too used to CA ;)

Thanks!

Sorry, decidedly not Florida here (brrrrrrhhhhh), but don't forget to check out

the Links page on the website and go to the Restaurants and Travel folder for

links to finding veggie-friendly places, including restaurant reviews with some.

have a great trip!

Orlando may be a viable option but just barely.

A few Whole Foods and a Chamberlins are listed in addition to:

Florida Hospital Cafeteria - 601 E. Rollins St., Orlando, FL 32803.

407-8303-6611. Located in Seventh-Day Adventist hospital.

Garden Cafe Vegetarian Restaurant * - 810 W. Colonial Dr., Orlando,

FL 32804. 407-999-9799. International & Chinese vegetarian menu.

Taste of India *- 9251 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32837.

407-855-4622.

The Garden Cafe is, I believe, Buddist. I was not overly impressed

with the food but it certainly was good enough to go back to.

There is a restaurant (still there?) that I read about in Orlando called

No Blood No Bones, http://orlando.diningguide.net/data/d103150.htm. I

don't know whether the web site is current...
