Guest guest
ok so i havent had the time to read every message on here lately but i saw the one about EVIL kale and i assume thats a stab at my old post??? look, i apologized, i was under the silly assumption that some vegetarians were activists.when i went veggie at the age of 10 i was protesting all the time and doing civil disobedience quite often(up until i was 22,i think). at the time that seemed like a good way to educate. i dont do CD anymore, but i still fight for the cause whenever i can.i understand not everyone is this way now...anyways,i apologized... cant we just drop it?!?!?! on a lighter note.. i would LOVE to find yummy wheat meat recipes! i have one for wheat gluten but i cant seem to get the consistency right it comes out too 'spongy' and i cant get it flavored yummy either, its always too bland. heck, any recipe from real food daily would be a joy!! or native foods, have you been there? i used to love that place and Tanya was so sweet.they had the best vegan cheesecake ever!!! yum yum!! nicole

Guest guest
Nonono...nothing personal....Pat made a comment: (Er, sorry I didn't respond earlier, but unless you put the word 'Evil' in your subject line in all caps, well, you're just not in it!) So, I changed the name to EVIL kale expriment. That's all!! , " Bhaktin Nicole " <countergopi> wrote: > > ok so i havent had the time to read every message on here lately but > i saw the one about EVIL kale and i assume thats a stab at my old > post??? look, i apologized, i was under the silly assumption that > some vegetarians were activists.when i went veggie at the age of 10 > i was protesting all the time and doing civil disobedience quite > often(up until i was 22,i think). at the time that seemed like a > good way to educate. i dont do CD anymore, but i still fight for the > cause whenever i can.i understand not everyone is this way > now...anyways,i apologized... cant we just drop it?!?!?! > > on a lighter note.. i would LOVE to find yummy wheat meat recipes! i > have one for wheat gluten but i cant seem to get the consistency > right it comes out too 'spongy' and i cant get it flavored yummy > either, its always too bland. > heck, any recipe from real food daily would be a joy!! or native > foods, have you been there? i used to love that place and Tanya was > so sweet.they had the best vegan cheesecake ever!!! yum yum!! > nicole

That's all!! Yup, that's what happened all right. And *I* made my joking comment because, looking back, soooooo many messages had not changed the subject line from your original one, even though the topic had changed. Soooo, feeling in a happy mood, and commenting as much on my own activity in dealing with the 'Evil' titled messages first, before Beth's that is, I commented as I did. Beth's response was a stab at *me*, I would day, not you. It made me laugh out loud. 'Gotcha!' she seemed to be saying! ;=) No, no one was getting at you. You explained yourself charmingly and we quite understand. But that reminds me of something else - but another email would be better (subject lines and one-topic-to-an-email protocol (I'm oldfashioned - hah!) etc.) Best, Pat ;=)
Guest guest
We had Kirsten/Carousel Cheesecakes salivating at the idea of vegan cheesecake. I have recipes, but not for THIS list. They need to go on the vegan weight gaining list. LOL The vegan versions are probably a lot healthier and lower in calories than regular cheesecake... Maybe if you promise to eat just a tiny sliver and freeze the rest I might post some recipes and then put them in the new OT NON-slimming section. More on this subject, the local pricey gourmet vegetarian restaurant, Sublime http://www.sublimeveg.com has the most incredible vegan key lime pie, which is a sort of lime cheesecake. I'll bet this dessert is just one of the reasons it was ranked as one of the top ten vegetarian restaurants in the country by VegNews. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ from Maida.
