BUT...some creepazoid had his/her way with this article: '3 ounces meat analogue' goes to a websearch that brings up xrated stuff. ugh. That's too bad, but I don't think the makers of the page can be blamed for what we find when we search on the web subsequent to but not because of reading the article. The PRM group is pretty reliable, allied with PETA (which, whatever you might think of its politics, is committed to veganism), etc., as far as vegetarianism and veganism is concerned. You could have looked up 'protein' on the web and found some 'xrated stuff' too - LOL and I shudder to think what kind of xrated material would be shown us if we googled on 'nuts'. FOR NEWBIES: Meat analogues are fake meats - in a vegetarian context, in which it was used in the article. It means using soy protein in its various guises of tofu, tvp, tempeh, or wheat gluten (seitan) in place of me*t. (Dried bulk TVP is popular because it is easy to store, inexpensive and, depending on the shape you buy it in, goes well in stews, soups, chillies sin carne, etc.) Otherwise readymade (but more expensive) burgers, cutlets, sausages, etc. are beckoning on many supermarket shelves - all meat-free. Guest guest
LOL, but I didn't do a subsequent search! 'anal' of analogue was made into a link - I was expecting it to go to a page about pseudomeat. Did this happen to anybody else? I'm noticing links available in weird places today - this article was the 1st thing I read this am, so I'm not saying the article is responsible. I wonder if something new has crawled into my pc & is taking over? GRR!!! veggiehound <veggiehound wrote: > Interesting. Did this happen to anybody else? ohhhhh I see LOL I thought xrated meant recipes or articles with meat in them! And there I was making smart remarks about nuts! You must have got quite a surprise! No, there were no links at all in the article for me! Hey - your computer could be worth a fortune to the right people! Guest guest
My dad's computer used to make random words into links. You most likely have some spyware or something along those lines on your computer. ~~Melinda , Beth Renzetti <elmothree2000> wrote: > LOL, but I didn't do a subsequent search! Guest guest
*sigh* why does there have to be **BEEP*s out there to spoil the fun? Enough of the viruses, etc. already.
