Guest guest
Hi there, Nancy - Not everyone on this list is vegetarian - that's no problem - provided it's not a problem for you :=) We ask that all members just respect our views, avoid unnecessary discussion of me*t, and take care that recipes posted do not contain meat (including birds and waterlife). That shouldn't be a problem eh? More vegetables? Well, that's all you get here, plus a little low-fat dairy and some eggs, so you should be able to find lost of great ideas to enhance your menus and tempt the palate. As for losing weight, many find that a vegetarian (especially a vegan) diet causes weight to drop off at a pretty quick rate provided they don't resort to junk food and fast food - and go easy on dairy of course. Sorry to hear you're not feeling well, but perhaps if you can drop some weight off there will be less trouble with the joints? And good nutrition never hurt anyone! Have a look at our Files. And ask for advice, of course, when needed. Our advice will be, among other things, of course, to go vegetarian! LOL I look forward to talking to you. Best, Pat (Co-owner, with Piers, of Vegetarian Slimming)
Guest guest
Thanks for your warm, welcoming response. I am eager to lose the weight, and put less pressure on the knees, ankles, hips, etc. I wish I could control my craving for sweets, meaning chocolate and chips. I certainly do not purchase them, but if they are right in front of me, I do find them very difficult to resist. I wonder why that is? Sadly I do not get as excited about what is good for me. I wish I loved carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers and broccoli. It seems what I put on these items is what makes them more palatable for me. Any ideas on what to do. Thanks vegetarianslimming <veggiehound wrote: Hi there, Nancy - Not everyone on this list is vegetarian - that's no problem - provided it's not a problem for you :=) We ask that all members just respect our views, avoid unnecessary discussion of me*t, and take care that recipes posted do not contain meat (including birds and waterlife). Guest guest
I find spices, spices, spices to be the trick. Sprinkle a different blend on each veggie and enjoy. And various kinds of vinegar too! Hope this helps, -Erin , Nancy Bryans <bryans30> wrote: > > Thanks for your warm, welcoming response. > > I am eager to lose the weight, and put less pressure on the knees, ankles, hips, etc. > > I wish I could control my craving for sweets, meaning chocolate and chips. Guest guest
I like Mexican flavors on brocolli, say a garlic hot sauce or a powdered blend, one of my favorites being Sgt Pepper's Chipotle Del Sol (sodium free! woohoo!). On cauliflower, I like wasabi powder or an Italian herb blend. -Erin , " vegetarianslimming " <veggiehound> wrote: > > > I find spices, spices, spices to be the trick. > > Sprinkle a different blend on each veggie and > > enjoy. Guest guest
These are all great ideas - I suppose you put these on plain steamed vegetables?
