Guest guest
Dear Melanie, You CAN NOT use carob Chips on a gluten free diet. They have BARLEY in them which is a HIGH gluten grain. Chocolate chips are fine if you do not mind the dairy. A lot of Gluten intolerance people end up going dairy free because there bodies just can not handle dairy any longer. I hope this helps, Amy Melanie Wilson wrote: > Hi there, > > I'm not a member of your group, but I'm hoping you can help me. I'm > wondering about gluten intolerance and chocolate. Guest guest
Amy, where I purchase my carob chips there are many different types of them. . ..I use the unsweetened, dairy-free, carob chips and I believe they are safe (no barley). I think this would depend upon the ingredients in the chip, wouldn't you? Also, there are dairy free chocolate chips available in some places. You just have to search and find a good source (for both the gluten-free and dairy-free varieties). LaDonna * * * * * * * * Dear Melanie, You CAN NOT use carob Chips on a gluten free diet. Guest guest
Dear LaDonna, That is great. I have never been able to find Carob chips that were gluten free. So I am very excited to hear that you have.. could you share the brand name on those?? We buy the non-dairy chocolet chips.. that is what we use. Although I would much rather use carob. Guest guest
Carob Chips: Amy, I'll be happy to share the brand name. Next time I go to the store I will check. They are packaged by the store and, although they have the ingredients listed on the label, they don't tell the brand. I'll try to find a stock person who can look up the information and a possible address or phone number. LaDonna
Guest guest
I have a question. Someone told me that cashews should not be used as they are poisonous if not cured right??? Has anyone ever heard if they should not be used????
