Guest guest
Any ideas on how to make them if I don't have gf bread on hand. I do have a few gluten free all purpose baking mixes though. Would ground up rice cakes work or be too mushy?
Guest guest
First of all, welcome to our group! Glad you are here. Can you clarify your question about bread crumbs. I'm uncertain as to what recipe you are referring to. ~ LaDonna " makeuprettier " <balletgirl27 > Any ideas on how to make them if I don't have gf bread on hand. Hi again, Actually, I just want a basic recipe like for breading tofu or casseroles or veggie burgers. I don't make bread and the brown rice bread from the store seems really moist and sweet when I toast it. Thanks again for your advice. This board is great. I actually am not a vegan-I eat eggs and fish (it is highly recommended for my condition(endometriosis) mostly salmon), , I have decided to cut out dairy, refined sugar, wheat, gluten, and of course meat. I have been eating this way for 6 weeks now and feel great, but it is new to me and I am still researching things. I really like this site a lot. I like to use nutritional yeast for breading. Dip the tofu or burger in soymilk and then in the nutritional yeast. Sometimes I add herbs and seasonings and a gluten-free flour blend to the mix. You could also blend quinoa flakes, brown rice (raw), or other acceptable grains and use them (probably best mixed for variety). >This board is great. I'm glad you are enjoying it. Hopefully it benefits those here. > I actually am not > a vegan-I eat eggs and fish (it is highly recommended for my > condition(endometriosis) mostly salmon). I understand the pain and frustration of endometriosis! There are vegan alternatives to eggs and salmon, if you are interested. Flax seed, freshly ground, has many of the same nutritional qualities as salmon. I am adding 1 Tbsp. of fresh ground flax seed to a glass of soy milk every morning and evening. The nutritients oxidize quickly and are not stable in heat, but if used soon after grinding they are full of nutrition. I use a small coffee grinder that is " dedicated " to flax seeds. >I have decided to cut out > dairy, refined sugar, wheat, gluten, and of course meat. It sounds like you are doing really well and are dedicated to your new lifestyle. I hope you continue to have wonderful results and reap benefits far into the future! It is a yellow powder that is full of B vitamins and grows on mollasses. You would have to check with your health care provider about whether you can use it or not, but I know that when I'm on a candida diet I avoid it. Hope this helps ~ any more questions? It's been a quiet day on this forum. :~LaDonna (it was 109 degrees F. here today!)
