Guest guest
It is interesting that the very same web page that claims cardamom can " treat " Celiac disease also offers to take money from those who believe it. This same web page contains a link labelled " disclaimer " . The disclaimer advises us that the vendor " cannot prescribe, diagnose or treat any disease. " These folks that are willing to accept money also say: " YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CONSULT WITH A HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL BEFORE TAKING ANY DIETARY, NUTRITIONAL, HERBAL OR HOMEOPATHIC SUPPLEMENT. " I agree that you should certainly talk to a licensed medical practitioner before you believe that cardamom can " treat " celiac disease. As a spice, Cardamom is quite pleasant. As a treatment for celiac disease, my personal opinion is this is an obvious hoax. If you add cardamom to any food that contains gluten, and then you eat that food, and you also have celiac disease - you should expect to feel ill - because you will! Guest guest
Whoo! I'd be cautious about relying on that. I can understand cardamon possibly acting locally in the digestive system to decrease that set of symptoms, though I'm having trouble imagining that it would do anything for the root problem. I'm afraid taking cardamon might only be a very thin " bandaid solution " , that might mislead people into thinking the problem is solved when really it is only moderating symptoms. The root of celiac, as I understand it, is a lack of digestive enzymes for gluten. Even if the digestive symptoms are relieved, I would think the deeper auto-immune issues would continue to develop.
