MILK ALLERGY ALERT September 24, 2002

 

Soyco Foods, a division of Galaxy Nutritional Foods, makers of Soymage Vegan

Brand 100% Dairy/Casein free alternatives is recalling 4,871 cases of its

6-oz. packages of Vegan Singles Mozzarella (Individually Wrapped Slices) and

4,976 cases of its 6-oz. packages of Vegan Singles Yellow American because

they may contain undeclared milk.

 

The recalled product was distributed through distribution centers in the

following states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia,

Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York,

Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin, and

for further distribution to retail stores possibly nationwide.

 

The product comes in a 6-oz. IWS film with two flavors, UPC #

0-77172-64020-4 (Mozzarella) and UPC # 0-77172-64025-9 (Yellow American),

and expiration dates of January 23, 2003 or prior stamped on the front

panel.

 

This recall was initiated after it was discovered that a milk-containing

product may have been mistakenly cross-mixed into the dairy-free Vegan

Slices.

 

Consumers who have purchased the products may contact Galaxy Nutritional

Foods at 1-800-441-9419 to receive a full refund.
