Guest guest
Hi! Does anybody have any recipes for " cake in a jar " or " bread in a jar " (sweet bread) that are gluten free? I like to make these for Christmas gifts, but now that my kitchen is completely gluten free (I don't like to make anything with gluten), I need to find one that is good that is gluten free. Pumpkin or poppy seed....ANYTHING sweet! : ) Thanks!! Lynnette
Guest guest
Are you looking for a cake recipe that you can layer the dry ingredients into a jar and include recipe for completion or for a recipe you can bake in a jar? Guest guest
Caroline, I was actually looking for one that you make and can (with the seal and all), however, I would love the other too. I'm new to gluten free cooking and am still so clueless on what is good and doesn't take a bunch of weird ingredients. If you have some recipes you can share of either, that would be GREAT! Thanks. : ) Have a lovely evening. Guest guest
Lynette, I've never made either type but have been fascinated with the concept of the layered ones. The crazy chocolate cake I posted as my recipe would do well as a layered dry ingredient, particularly if doubled. You could either blend the gf flour, soda, etc and layer the sugar the cocoa/carob and the choc chips or you could even do mini layers of the flours since besan is yellow and the others are white. I would blend the extras (baking soda, gum, salt, etc) in with one of the flours before layers though. You could even vary the sugar from brown to white for more colour variation. The more I think of this the more I like it. I have a feeling my son will be making these as Christmas presents for his grandmothers who are both celiacs. The best thing about that is that he can cook and eat it with them too. Great idea, thanks Lynette.
