Guest guest
BL, how do you make vegetable ghee from canola oil? Would other oils, like olive oil, also work? LaDonna - > Ghee itself is clarified butter. Vegetable ghee is made from canola oil which is why I use it instead. > BL
Guest guest
I just buy it in the Indian Section at Save-On LaDonna, so I haven't tried making it. I suppose there is a way since there doesn't seem to be other additives. When I have time I will check to see for you. BL
Guest guest
Brenda-Lee, What is the vegetable ghee derived from? I have looked for this in Asian store and have been unsuccessful. Could it be just a Canadian item? Guest guest
No, Jay, the one I get is an imported item, and it is the canola oil one, but other people on the GFCF list say they have purchased vegetable ghee made with soy oil in the US. The one I get is imported by a company called Hanif, if that helps any. BL PS this link shows three brands, but I haven't checked them out entirely Jay http://www.commerce.com.tw/products/EN/V/Vegetable_Ghee.htm
