stevia and infertility

Information can be so confusing!!!

I have been researching the link between stevia and infertility and am so

confused. I have 2 children but have been going through secondary infertility

for the last 5 years. We so desperately want to have more children.

I am wondering if there is some truth between the link between stevia and

infertility. I have used stevia a lot for several years now. Once I got to

thinking about it, I realized that I have been using it at almost every meal.

What do you all think, do you think there could be some validity to it?

Thanks,

Tracy

Thanks BL and LaDonna for your advice! Grin

BL, secondary fertility is just a term used to describe someone that has had

children and then becomes infertile.

LaDonna,I agree with you totally. I cut it out yesterday. Wow! I didn't

realize how much I was using it until I went without. I am going to have to

change what I am eating and how I am eating it. It is good though, because

when I first went vegan I wasn't using any natural sweeteners at all and I

got to where I like the way food tasted naturally. Then once I started using

stevia I got used to having everything sweetened again. I think that it tends

to make me eat more because it tastes so sweet. So, I am kind of glad to get

back to the way things were even if it is going to be difficult to change my

taste buds again.

Thanks so much,

Tracy

Haven't studied it enough to say Tracy. The same claims are made about sugar

though and the other risks associated with aspartame, splenda and sugar alcohols

are worse. Do you have any findings or information to share?

Do you feel like sharing what " secondary " infertility is? Perhaps there are

some other options that others can share with you?

Tracy,

Are you referring to the fact that stevia is used as a form of birth control

in some countries? If you are trying to conceive, I would eliminate stevia

from my diet. . .as I believe that herbs really do act as medicine in our

bodies. Since you've been using stevia daily for quite some time it may be

hindering you from reaching your goals. My recommendation is to take a

break from the stevia. Sorry I'm not more scientific about this. . .but I

do use herbs for medicinal purposes and believe they really work and do a

good job! In this case maybe " too good " a job!
