Guest guest
Hello, I am planning on making the Benton's Sister coconut whipped cream, but cannot find the Emes vegan gelatin anywhere locally. A woman at one of the health food stores suggested using Agar Agar powder. Before I attempt it, I was wondering if anyone has tried this as a replacement for the vegan gelatin, and if so, does it work? Thanks very much, Sue
Guest guest
Sue, I believe that technicallyl this would work, but I don't know the conversion for amounts of Emes to Agar Agar. Did the woman at the health food store have a suggestion? Emes is equal to regular gelatin (oz. per oz. in a recipe) so any conversion chart for gelatin/agar would apply. Agar works very well as a thickener! Don't be afraid to experiment with it. . .and let us know what you find out. ~ LaDonna Hello, I am planning on making the Benton's Sister coconut whipped cream, but cannot find the Emes vegan gelatin anywhere locally.
