black bean question

Does anyone know how long black beans will last in the fridge once they are

cooked? Are there any good ways to store cooked beans that will last a long

time? Any ideas?

Dan, black beans should last about a week in the fridge. If you have more than

you can use, they freeze well. I usually place extras in a freezer zip-lock bag

(in about 1 cup amounts) or in a small plastic container and freeze them until I

need them.

Hi Dan;

I freeze them in serving sizes in zip-lock style bags.

Because I usually cook for 2 people, I usually freeze 2 cups of

cooked beans in a bag, cooked but without any cooking water. As

long as they are well-sealed, they will last about as long as

anything in the freezer.
