Guest guest
Hi all, I am posting this on behalf of Meaghan, a young single mom I know. She has an awesome pit mix Tar that she needs temporary housing for until she can move. Her landlord decided that she did not want a pit mix at her property so it was either move or " get rid of " Tar. She has made a commitment to Tar and won't consider re homing him so she is giving her 30 day notice. She is currently seeking housing that will allow both her human and canine children. She needs help for approximately 30 days or until she secures housing. I have been involved in rescue for quite some time and have fostered in the vicinity of 15 dogs until they have found their forever homes. The reason many of them ended up homeless is that many pet parents simply don't have the commitment that Meaghan has. I greatly admire her as this is creating a lot of difficulty for her, but she refuses to take the easy way out. Yay for her!! :-) Since I have three small dogs, and Tar is a large breed, I cannot provide foster care for him. If anyone is willing to help out, it would be greatly appreciated. I have attempted unsuccessfully to attached a bio she wrote along with some photos but it kept getting kicked back. I have pasted the bio on the bottom, but for pictures please contact me directly since I can't get them to post to the list and I have been trying for two days! Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or you can also contact Meaghan directly. Thanks!! Deborah Tar- 2 ½ year old Staffordshire Mix My current living situation has unfortunately left us with Tar not having a home until I am able to find a new one that allows dogs. Tar has been living with me in my new residence for the past three months while the landlord decided whether or not she would allow him to stay with me. She finally decided that she could not have a " pit bull " on the premises and needs to be gone by February 1st. I have no intension of re-homing Tar, but may need to find him a temporary home while I find a place for my daughter, Tar and myself. I adopted him from the animal shelter when he was 3 months old. He is both an inside and outside, although prefers to be inside, very loving to others once he gets to know them and extremely gentle with children. He is very well disciplined and loves playing with other dogs. He does play rough and walks around like he is the alpha - he has a very strong personality. I have though about finding him new home, but I don’t have it in my heart to do so; he is part of the family. If anyone is willing to temporary house Tar, or knows anyone, I will pay for his food and board and will be forever grateful for their kindness. I am giving my 30 days on the first and if everything goes well, will be moving into my new place on March 1st. If you have any questions or suggestions for my situation please call Meaghan at (408) 202-2242. Thank you
