The San Jose Mercury News continues to provide a platform to pro-cruelty

propaganda. Today's Merc has a second column by Patty Fisher defending the

declawing of cats. It's on page B1 of the print edition. Read Fisher's column

online at http://www.mercurynews.com/patty-fisher/ci_13795417

Fisher's first pro-declawing column was in the 11/9/09 edition of the Merc

Please respond by taking some or all of the following actions:

1. Vote in the online poll at

http://forums.mercurynews.com/poll/should-cat-declawing-be-legal . This poll

asks the question, " Should cat declawing be legal? " Click the " No " button then

click the " Vote " button. Anybody can vote on this; you don't need to sign in or

register for voting on this. This action is anonymous.

2. write a Letter to the Editor of the San Jose Mercury News. Submit your

letter by e-mailing it to

letters<letters . Requirements: 125

words or less; no attachments; include your name, address and daytime phone.

The Mercury News edits letters for length and clarity. They won't publish your

street address or phone number.

3. Add your comment at

http://forums.mercurynews.com/poll/should-cat-declawing-be-legal . To do so, go

to the top-left corner of that webpage and click " Sign In " or " Register " . Your

comment could be identical to your Letter to the Editor, or it could be longer.

4. Add your comment (could be the same comment as in #3) at

http://www.mercurynews.com/patty-fisher/ci_13795417 .

5. Circulate this e-mail widely.
